About

A team of Canadian building performance experts created Purpose in 2018 as an employee-owned company to accelerate real estate to planet-positive performance. The team has been leading sustainability initiatives for over 30 years. Our clients count on us to deliver organisational strategies and building-level solutions for new development, existing buildings and portfolios in all classes of real estate assets.

With staff in Ontario and BC, Purpose serves clients across North America, including companies, institutions, governments and industry associations.

Highlights

Purpose Building is Canada’s only private-sector pure-play sustainability advisor selected by NRCan as a Retrofit Accelerator under their Deep Retrofit Accelerator Initiative (DRAI). We accelerate to planet-positive by inspiring confidence in teams to go farther, faster and close the performance gap between business-as-usual and what is needed. In the first year of the Purpose Retrofit Accelerator program, we helped clients uncover over 350,000 tonnes of annual GHG reduction potential across 1,300+ buildings.
