Jason is a highly accomplished Red Seal Journeyman Electrician and renewable energy leader with over 20 years of diverse experience spanning electrical contracting, solar energy systems, and sustainable infrastructure development.
Based in Alberta, he has built a distinguished career addressing critical energy challenges through innovative solutions in generation, transmission, and storage while championing Indigenous engagement and workforce development.
As a certified Master Electrician and Solar PV Specialist, Jason holds advanced credentials from Tesla (Powerwall, Charging Systems), Generac, and Solar Alberta, along with Safety Codes Officer certification. His technical expertise is matched by his entrepreneurial drive, having successfully founded and operated an electrical contracting firm specializing in EV charging stations and solar installations. Currently, he serves as an Electrical Safety Codes Officer and Solar Consultant while leading training initiatives with Iron & Earth to equip Indigenous communities with renewable energy skills.
Jason’s deep commitment to sustainability extends to governance and advocacy. He has contributed to board development for the Sustainable Energy and Agriculture Association of Alberta (SEAWA) and holds leadership roles with the Electrical Contractors Association of Alberta (ECAA), where he serves as Edmonton Chapter Vice President and chairs green energy initiatives. His collaborative approach has bridged industry, policy, and Indigenous partnerships, earning recognition as an Aspiring Innovator of the Year by the Coalition of Innovation Leaders Against
Racism (CILAR) for his community impact.
Rooted in Métis heritage, Jason prioritizes education and mentorship, designing tailored programs to empower underrepresented groups in the energy transition. His operational background—from project management at a mid-size residential solar energy installation company to theatrical production—reflects adaptability, stakeholder engagement, and a unique ability to translate technical concepts into actionable strategies. With a vision for equitable, sustainable energy systems, Jason combines hands-on experience, strategic leadership, and a passion for inspiring future innovators.
