Multi-Site Retrofit for non-profit housing organization
AEEA is pleased to showcase projects that demonstrate the Retrofit Vendors capacity to undertake projects across Canada.
Modern Niagara partnered with a Toronto-based non-profit housing organization (name withheld under Non Disclosure Agreement) to deliver a comprehensive multi-site deep energy retrofit program across three mixed-income residential buildings. The program was developed to help the client achieve significant reductions in energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, and long-term utility costs while supporting eligibility for federal and utility-funded incentive programs.
Program Goals:
– Minimum 25% reduction in energy use and GHG emissions
– Improved comfort and reliability for residents
– Strong foundation for long-term decarbonization
Scope of Work:
– High-efficiency MUA upgrades
– Heat pump retrofits
– VRF upgrades
– Controls enhancements
– Low-flow water fixture replacements
– Solar thermal and site-specific upgrades
Enbridge Incentives Secured:
Modern Niagara successfully secured a total of $382,000 in Enbridge natural gas incentives, recognized as one of the largest Affordable Housing incentive awards in the GTA for 2025. This funding supports the client’s capital plan and long-term retrofit roadmap.
